Noida’s Proposed 50-Km Yamuna Pushta Elevated Road to Strengthen Airport Connectivity

Noida is set for another major infrastructure push with authorities finalising the route of a proposed 50-km elevated road along the Yamuna Pushta, aimed at improving connectivity between Noida, Greater Noida and the Noida International Airport.

The proposed eight-lane corridor, estimated to cost around ₹4,000 crore, is being planned as an alternative route to existing road corridors and is expected to help accommodate the increase in traffic associated with the expansion of the airport and the wider Yamuna Expressway region. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is now preparing a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the project.

Proposed Corridor Extended to 50 Kilometres

The Yamuna Pushta elevated road was initially planned as a roughly 31-km corridor connecting Noida Sector 94 with Greater Noida’s Chi IV area near Gautam Buddha University.

Under the revised alignment, the proposed road has been extended to approximately 50 km, taking the corridor further towards the Yamuna Expressway and the developing airport region.

The route is planned to begin near Sector 94 in Noida, close to the Okhla Barrage and Kalindi Kunj, and run parallel to the Yamuna embankment before continuing towards Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway.

The extended alignment is expected to pass through areas including Gharbara, Mursadpur and several sectors under the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority before connecting with the Faridabad-Jewar Greenfield Expressway.

Alternative Route Towards Noida International Airport

One of the key objectives of the proposed corridor is to provide an alternative to the existing Noida-Greater Noida Expressway for traffic travelling towards the airport.

With Noida International Airport expected to generate additional passenger and road traffic, authorities have been working on multiple connectivity projects around the region. The Yamuna Pushta elevated corridor is being planned as part of this larger infrastructure network.

The proposed alignment would allow traffic from Delhi and Noida to move towards Greater Noida and the airport corridor without depending entirely on the existing Noida Expressway.

₹4,000-Crore Infrastructure Project

The proposed eight-lane elevated road is estimated to cost approximately ₹4,000 crore.

The project is being taken forward with coordination between NHAI and the development authorities of Noida, Greater Noida and the Yamuna area. Following the recent alignment discussions, NHAI is preparing the DPR, which will determine the project’s technical and implementation details.

The final execution timeline and construction schedule will depend on the completion of the DPR, approvals, and other project requirements.

Connectivity Across Delhi-NCR Could Improve

The proposed corridor is expected to have significance beyond airport connectivity.

Starting near Sector 94 would provide an important connection towards Delhi and Kalindi Kunj, while the southern sections would connect with the growing Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway development corridor.

The route is also planned to integrate with the Faridabad-Jewar Greenfield Expressway, creating additional connectivity between the airport region and parts of Haryana.

Together, these projects could create a more interconnected road network across Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Jewar and Faridabad.

Infrastructure Growth Around Noida Airport

The Yamuna Pushta elevated road is one of several major infrastructure projects being developed or planned around Noida International Airport.

The region is also seeing work on the Faridabad-Jewar Greenfield Expressway and other road connectivity projects designed to improve access to the airport and surrounding development zones.

The expansion of road infrastructure is particularly important as the airport corridor develops into a major commercial, residential, and logistics destination.

Potential Impact on Noida and Greater Noida

Improved connectivity could have wider implications for the real estate and commercial development landscape across Noida and Greater Noida.

Areas located along major transport corridors often become more accessible to residents, businesses and investors. The proposed Yamuna Pushta corridor could strengthen connectivity for sectors along the Yamuna and improve access towards the airport and surrounding employment and commercial hubs.

However, the actual impact on traffic movement and regional development will depend on the final alignment, construction timeline, and integration with other planned infrastructure projects.

Outlook

The proposed 50-km Yamuna Pushta elevated road represents another major step in the broader infrastructure expansion taking place across the Noida-Greater Noida and Yamuna region.

With the route now extended closer to Noida International Airport and an estimated investment of around ₹4,000 crore, the project could become an important alternative road corridor for Delhi-NCR traffic.

As NHAI moves ahead with the Detailed Project Report, further clarity is expected on the project’s final design, implementation schedule, and construction timeline.
